GLADESVILLE

Gladesville

Lifestyle

Riverside views and touches of historical charm quietly enhance the suburb of Gladesville.

A family orientated area situated on the Parramatta River, just 9km north of Sydney it offers a down-to-earth lifestyle and enough open spaces and walking trails to remind you’re still harbourside.

The main thoroughfare Victoria Road, is a busy arterial route which is hard to avoid, but offers a great selection of international restaurants including Thai, Italian and Indian, a string of handy shops and every amenity you’ll need.

Venture closer to the river, to discover Gladesville’s peaceful prettier side. You can jump on a River Cat to cruise the Parramatta River, wander the leafy streets or enjoy a waterside picnic with a spectacular sunset.

Perhaps, Gladesville’s biggest claim to fame was the fact it was home to Australia's famous bush poet, Banjo Paterson. His childhood residence, now the Banjo Paterson Cottage Restaurant, provides fine dining in a gorgeous sandstone building surrounded by 5 acres of gardens overlooking the serene Parramatta River.

Gladesville’s family orientation, means there’s a good selection of schools on offer, and its proximity to a major road, means public transport is easy-peasy. Whilst Gladesville may not take everyone’s breath away, it’s a laid back locale that ticks plenty of real estate boxes.

People

Relaxed and friendly, Gladesville is a suburb that attracts families and young professionals, mostly who are happy to go about life without a lot of fuss.

It’s easy proximity to the city or for heading west to the business centre of Parramatta, make it a great central location for commuters all round.

New homes rub shoulders with older character homes and bungalows in the leafy streets of Gladesville. There is also a good selection of apartments of all styles, especially near the main roads, with accommodation to suit everyone’s budget.
